The Bound Brook Library presents...

The Titanic Revisited

Saturday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m.

It’s been 100 years since the “unsinkable” Titanic went down in the North Atlantic taking more than 1500 passengers and crew to their deaths. Audrey L. Boise will recount this story beginning in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where the Titanic was built. Next travel to Southampton as the Titanic boards its’ passengers and begins her maiden voyage across the Atlantic to New York on April 10, 1912. Although the main event took place during the night of April 14-15, 1912, the story doesn’t end there; learn about Halifax, Nova Scotia where some of the passengers and crew are buried; hear about the investigation that looked into the disaster; find out about the search for the wreckage and its subsequent discovery in 1985; and that brings us to the present day and the 100th Anniversary of the disaster. Pictures of the Titanic being built and on board the ship after completion will be on view.
