Program Room B
379 South Branch Rd.
Hillsborough, NJ  08844

Experienced, battle-tested officers were desperately needed at the beginning of the Civil War. Philip Kearny fought in three wars, losing his arm in the Mexican-American War, but eagerly trained and led the 'First Jersey Brigade' before rising to Maj. General. Respected and beloved by his men, Kearny led by example and damned the Yankee politicians, the senior officers and the rebels alike. His untimely death was a huge loss to the army and to the men who loved him. Come hear about the life and valor of one of New Jersey's finest and most charismatic warriors. Civil War historian  Glenn LeBoeuf will present.
