New Jersey History Comes Alive! The Story of Corruption in New Jersey: How Bad are We?

Dr. Marc Mappen has been praised by the New York Times as 'the eminent historian of New Jersey' and by the Star Ledger as an engaging speaker. In his talk, Rutgers historian Mappen will use zest and humor to explore three centuries of political corruption in the Garden State.

Dr. Mappen has seven books to his credit, including the award winning  'Encyclopedia of New Jersey', which he co-edited, and 'Jerseyana: The Underside of New Jersey History'. His most recent book is 'Prohibition Gangsters: the Rise and Fall of a Bad Generation', which is a feature selection of the History Book Club and Book of the Month Club. He has written many articles in publications including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Rutgers Magazine, New Jersey Heritage and the current New Jersey Business.
