Decorative Arts & Classical Music this week @ Warren Library


Decorative Arts @ Newark Museum: 7 PM, Thursday, April 25. The Museum’s Decorative Arts collection comprises a vast array of household objects from the United States and Europe. This illustrated presentation highlights objects of applied art ranging from the sixteenth century to the present day and includes superb examples of furniture, silver, ceramic, glass, jewelry and textiles. The centerpiece of this collection is the Ballantine House – a 19th century National Historic landmark, former home to the celebrated Newark beer brewing family. Passes for free admission to the Newark Museum will be handed out at the conclusion of the program.

Musical Saturday @ Warren Library: Madison String Quartet interprets “From Beethoven to Buenos Aires”: 2 PM, Saturday, April 27.  The Madison String Quartet will perform a concert entitled “From Beethoven to Buenos Aires”, as they interpret pieces from an eclectic repertoire which includes Ludwig van Beethoven and Latin American composers of contemporary classical music.  This concert is geared toward adults only.
