April Programs for Adults @ Warren Twp Library

Warren Twp Library - 42 Mountain Boulevard, Warren, NJ 07059 - Phone: 908-754-5554

The Warren Twp Library will be offering over ten programs geared toward adults during the month of April.  We begin with two gardening presentations: Spring Vegetable Garden Adventures (Tuesday, April 10 @ 7 pm), and Do-It-Yourself Rain Garden (Thursday, April 12 @ pm). Our programs about health-related topics are always very popular.

Learn how to improve your memory on Saturday, April 14 @ 1 pm with "The Memory Switch" presented by Matthew Goerke, leading expert in the Memory Development field.  We continue with another meditation program with HypnoCounselor Susan Lembo on Tuesday, April 17 @ 11 am.  Find out how to prepare your body, with Integrative Nutrition, for a smooth seasonal transition and a happy, healthy spring with our program "Spring into Wellness" on Wednesday, April 25 @ 7 pm.

"Theater @ the Warren Library": "A Meeting of the Macabre" will take place on Saturday, April 21 @ 2 pm.  On the 100th anniversary of Bram Stoker's death, two actors from the Traveling Literary Theater will portray Bram Stoker and Edgar Allan Poe for an hour of conversation and dramatic readings, including "The Raven" and "Dracula".  No latecomers will be allowed in once the performance starts.

Another presentation with a literary flair will be "Poe, Hoboken, and the Body in the Hudson: NJ & the Birth of the Modern Mystery" on Thursday, April 26 @ 7 pm.  Edgar Allan Poe, the father of the modern mystery, was inspired by the real-life murder of Mary Rogers, whose body was found floating in the Hudson near Hoboken.  He had recently published “The Murders in the Rue Morgue,” introducing his sleuth C. Auguste Dupin.  The tale of Mary Rogers provided much fodder for the tabloids of the day and her murderer was never identified.  But the case was ready made to become Poe’s “The Mystery of Marie Roget.”  Join mystery writer Peggy Ehrhardt to learn about this chapter in NJ's literary history.

"The Basics of Buying and Selling in eBay" will be our last program of the month, on Saturday, April 28 @ 1pm with eBay instructor Cindy Gilbert.  She will provide the basic tools and knowledge to start dealing in the biggest online marketplace.  Learn how to open a seller's account, research, price your merchandise, create and monitor your listings, complete transactions and collect your payment.

To view more details about Warren's April programs please see the Warren Township Library calendar on-line.  Pre-registration is required to attend all these presentations.  Our programs are extremely popular and seating is limited.  Please register online by going to http://www.libraryinsight.net/calendarmv.asp?sm=&jx=wtp&nMonth=4&nYear=2012.  Please remember to temporarily disable your pop-up blocker in order to access this online calendar.  Alternatively, you may call the Reference Desk at 908-754-5554 ext 32 to register.
